Except for his Powerlinx version, which just has a bad paint job. ![]() So while yes, Armada left a sour taste in many a fans mouth (from toys to cartoon), Red Alert is a stand out among them. He is truly a god among his fellow Armadians. A few minicon ports here and there as well. His leg can become some sort of doo-hicky for minicons to hang out on. He comes with a flip out shoulder blaster that can also become a gun and various accessories for his left first. He has a decent transformation and his robot mode actually has a fair amount of articulation. He has a very solid vehicle mode that has a few features (lights, sounds, flip out weapons). Red Alert, among this group, is actually a well done toy. Armada is know for it's blocky, simple transformations, horrible articulation (if any!) and focus on gimmicks instead of the tranformers (thought if you read about it, it was on purpose, to try to appease smaller children). A nice break from other, older, G1 toys.Īrmada Red Alert - While Armada is everyone's favorite toy-line, hands down, Red Alert stands out among his peers. So while Slapdash does suffer from G1- brick-i-ness (more so being a Powermaster), his creators/designers actually put a lot of time into figuring out where to put all his accessories in both modes. His engine cover can either go where the Powermaster stays (if one wants the Lube off doing something I guess) OR is can fit on the back as well, attached to the spoiler. Then the engine cover (which can go where Lube goes) can fit on the back of his car and the gun can fit there as well! Neat! In robot mode, there is a place on his back for the spoiler to be stores. What a concept for an Autobot car! Lube (his Powermaster partner) stays in the engine. And, in both modes, all accessories fit neatly only Slapdash. On top of his Powermaster companion, he came with an engine cover, spoiler, and gun. Slapdash was one of the Autobot Powermasters. We look back at G1 toys and how many times did we loose accessories because there were no place to put them when the guys were in vehicle mode? However, have no fear anymore because Slapdash fixes that. However, as technology gets better, toys become, well, better. What we older fans like to base everything upon and claim that nothing is nearly as good as the classic bricks we used to play with. Others are too, welcome to put what they consider gems.įirst off: G1 Powermaster Slapdash Now, G1 is our class, go-to toy line for Transformers. So I'm going to list some and why they are. However, one thing I do notice is that with every line, no matter how bad it may seem (*cough looking at you Armada *cough) there are some gems that stand out. move a lot out of my parent's house), I've been letting my oldest play with many and, in some cases, like a museum, be on a semi-permanent loan to him (many of my micromasters are in his Transformers bin). is operated by Ryan Yzquierdo. As I organize my collections (i.e. This page was viewed 2 times on Friday, October 21st 2022 12:08am CDT.
